Spence to Represent Mighty Crane Products in U.S.

R&B Engineering, Tokyo-based manufacturer of the Mighty Crane series of mini-crawler cranes has appointed Steven Spence as its U.S. agent.

TOKYO — R&B Engineering, Tokyo-based manufacturer of the Mighty Crane series of mini-crawler cranes has appointed Steven Spence as its U.S. agent. Spence will be responsible for locating national distribution for the Mighty Crane product line and subsequent sales and product support.

R&B Engineering is an ISO9001:2008 / JIS Q 9001/2008-certified company located in Kita-ku, Tokyo with its manufacturing plant in Shimizu-ku, Shizuoka, Japan. The Mighty Crane is the successor and direct descendant of the TOA mini-crawler crane. With its rich history and CE and ANSI certification, Mighty Crane is developing international models.

Spence is a 39-year veteran in the light construction equipment industry with experience in equipment rental and light equipment product development. Spence began his equipment career in 1970 while in high school, working at American Rent All in Slidell, La., and, with the exception of three years working in a bookstore, has been in the construction equipment business renting, selling, or manufacturing equipment, including stints at Multiquip Inc., and, most recently, serving as vice-president of product development for Equipment Synergy International.

Spence also owns Kumu International Sales, Boise, Idaho.

R&B Engineering is a division of Sakamoto Sangyo Co. Ltd. of Tokyo. Sakamoto Sangyo is a major Kobelco Crane dealer in Japan and has extensive heavy-equipment sales and rental business across the world.
