RSC Holdings CEO Erik Olsson’s pay increased nearly 250 percent in 2010, largely because of the award of stock options and grants, the Phoenix Business Journal reported.

Olsson’s total pay was $3.52 million, compared with $1.01 million in 2009. The total includes base salary of $750,659; bonus $30,000; stock awards $1.28 million; stock options, $732,255; incentive pay $708,247, and $22,480 for perks such as a car allowance.

Olsson joined RSC in 2001 as chief financial officer and became CEO in 2006. Olsson owns more than 928,000 shares of RSC stock, which increased 45 percent in the first quarter of 2011.
