Volvo Rents and rental industry veteran Mike Crouch this week was named vice president of business development, a new position within Volvo Rents as the company plans a new growth phase through expansion opportunities.

Crouch is a veteran of 34 years in the construction equipment rental industry, with 10 years in senior management roles for Volvo Rents in North America and Europe. Crouch was vice president, operations for Volvo Rents in North America from 2004 through 2011, and from 2002-2004, he was vice president, Europe for Volvo Rents. Crouch will be responsible for pursuing acquisition opportunities for Volvo Rents.

To capitalize on the economic upturn, Volvo Rents is embarking on a new course where it will not only operate a franchise network of rental centers, but will also manage and grow a network of company-owned stores. Last month, the Volvo Group established Volvo Rents as a stand-alone subsidiary of AB Volvo in order to increase its capabilities in growing the business.

“Mike Crouch has done an excellent job leading our operations team for the past several years,” said Scott Hall, president and CEO of Volvo Rents. “I am pleased that he will be leading this important initiative for Volvo Rents.”

Based in Asheville, N.C., Volvo Rents is No. 17 on the new RER 100.
