Peter Bigwood, a veteran of 20 years with Atlas Copco, has left the company and taken a position as president of the United States division of Flip Screen Australia Pty Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of screening attachments for backhoes, skid-steer loaders, excavators and wheel loaders.

As president of Flip Screen USA, Bigwood is responsible for North American sales operations, including identifying new market segments and applications, building a sales team, and developing new relationships with dealers and distributors. Bigwood will be attending the Association of Equipment Dealers summit in January 2011 with the hope of establishing new dealer and distributor partnerships.

“I think we have a chance to grow Flip Screen into something really significant,” Bigwood told RER. “Everyone I’ve spoken to who owns one has been very happy with it.”

Bigwood was president of Atlas Copco Construction Tools for 16 years. Before joining ACCT, Bigwood was president of Smalley Excavators.

“We see the U.S. as a huge potential market for our products and, up until now, we have had little or no presence here,” said Flip Screen founder Sam Turnbull. “Bringing in someone like Peter is part of our overall strategic plan to expand in key markets around the world and develop a solid platform for further growth.”

“It is rare to find a unique, patented product line launched and so readily adopted around the world, especially given these tough economic conditions,” Bigwood said. “That bodes well for our future success here.”

Established in 2005, Flip Screen manufactures an award-winning line of screening attachments, with units currently operating in more than 20 countries. Flip screens are stocked and shipped from a distribution center in southern California.
