Hertz Equipment Rental Corp. last week announced it will celebrate the grand opening of its San Jose, Calif., 10,500-sqaure-foot general rental facility on Friday, April 4. The event will take place at the store between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and will showcase the facility’s showroom and newly expanded product line, which includes small tools, construction equipment and contractors’ supplies.
The grand opening of HERC San Jose is part of the company’s general rental program expansion, which HERC began in 2003 in support of its commitment to increase services and products for small, medium and large contractors as well as homeowners. The company added 23 general rental locations in 2007 as part of its planned expansion in that line of equipment rental and currently has more than 100 general rental locations throughout the United States and Canada.
HERC San Jose, which sits on a 60,000-square-foot lot, offers a broad range of new products, including roto-tillers, floor sanders and pressure washers, trenchers, paint sprayers, ladders, pumps and scaffolding. In addition to the newly expanded product line, HERC San Jose still offers a wide assortment of construction and industrial equipment from manufacturers such as Case, Genie, Ingersoll-Rand, JLG, John Deere, Wacker and Stihl.
At the grand opening, vendor demonstrations and literature will be available, a free lunch will be provided by Andy’s Bar-B-Que, and giveaways will be provided on-site while supplies last. HERC management and the Chamber of Commerce will participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony and local radio station 98.5 KFOX will broadcast live from the event.
A wholly owned subsidiary of The Hertz Corp., Park Ridge, N.J.-based HERC is No. 4 on the RER 100 with approximately 290 locations in the U.S. and Canada, and an additional 85 locations in France and Spain.
