The hourly employees of Finning International’s Canadian division, represented by the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Local 692 have approved a new four-year collective agreement, the company said. The agreement covers about 700 Finning Canada employees in British Columbia and Yukon.
The agreement, which will expire in April 2015, ends the work stoppage in B.C., which began June 22. Employees returned to work this week. The agreement provides for annual wage increases of 4 percent in year one, 3 percent in years two and three and 4 percent in year four.
The world’s largest Caterpillar dealer is based in Vancouver, B.C., and operates in western Canada, Chile, Argentina, Bolivia, Uruguay, Ireland and the United Kingdom.
A major equipment rental player, Finning is No. 9 on the RER 100.
