Birch Announces Staff Promotions

Birch Equipment, Bellingham, Wash., has named Bruce Miner central dispatch manager after 10 years as shop manager in Bellingham. Miner’s position was created to consolidate dispatch operations from multiple locations to increase efficiency and reduce dead runs and fuel costs. With more than 40 delivery trucks available, Birch offers equipment delivery drop-off and pick-up services to customers and transports equipment to its Northwest Washington branch six days a week.

Miner’s position was created to consolidate dispatch operations from multiple locations to increase efficiency and reduce dead runs and fuel costs. With more than 40 delivery trucks available, Birch offers equipment delivery drop-off and pick-up services to customers and transports equipment to its Northwest Washington branch six days a week.

Dean Parker has been promoted to shop manager, replacing Miner. Parker has worked for the company for 10 years, serving as lead mechanic for eight years and then as parts manager for the past two. As shop manager, Parker oversees Birch’s 23-person maintenance team.

Birch has also named Cara Buckingham information director. Buckingham will concentrate on internal communications and training initiatives and expanded outreach to local and national partners.

“We are a proactive company,” said Birch owner and general manager Sarah Rothenbuhler. “Our new inventory system launching this fall will allow customers to access order information and equipment utilization 24/7. The system will not only make Birch Equipment a more efficient operation, it will extend that benefit to our clients.”

Birch also has branches in Anacortes and Mount Vernon, Wash., and Sitka, Alaska.
