Husqvarna, which launched a new website in 2011, this week introduced the mobile version. The mobile site was tailor-made for mobile units, such as smart phones.
“More people use their phones to access the web to find information and that’s a need we’re looking to meet,” said David Hagström, digital media manager. “We want to make it possible for our users to receive information quickly, even when they’re not close to their computers. We’ll be launching around 30 mobile websites in different languages to meet the needs of our markets.”
The mobile website contains information pertaining to products, support and contacts. A dealer locator function helps the user find the closest Husqvarna supplier, either via GPS or by choosing a location; a tool guide directs the user to the right tool for a certain application; and the site also provides access to the product catalog.
“The mobile website is important in order to connect our different information channels — the full-scale website, the product catalog and other print materials, our channels on YouTube and Facebook — in an efficient manner,” Hagström said.
