Traylor Bros. Selects Qualcomm’s GlobalTRACS Equipment Management System
San Diego-based Qualcomm Inc., a provider of business-to-business wireless enterprise applications and services, and Traylor Bros., a heavy civil contractor, last week announced that all critical equipment in Traylor’s fleet is now equipped with Qualcomm’s GlobalTracs equipment management system. Traylor Bros., which was recently presented with a Fleet Masters Award from the Association of Equipment Management Professionals for having the best-managed fleet in North America, is finding that the GlobalTracs system is enhancing its fleet-management capabilities. Designed to meet the demanding requirements of the construction equipment industry, the GlobalTracs system automatically collects, manages, organizes and transmits equipment engine hours and location data, as well as remotely monitors critical machine health. GlobalTracs’ alerts notify dispatchers of critical information regarding machine systems, and a GPS-based location identifier tells them where equipment is at any given time. “Increasing visibility into our fleet is good business,” said Jeff Schroder, corporate equipment superintendent of Traylor Bros “The GlobalTracs system is helping us reduce equipment downtime, increase revenue and provide significant value both to us and our customers.” Located in Evansville, Ind., Traylor Bros. is a heavy civil contractor that specializes in the construction of tunnels, bridges, dams and ports.
