Alberta Crane Company ENTREC Corp. Acquires HighMark Crane Ltd.
ENTREC Corp. a Canadian heavy haul transportation and crane provider to the oil and gas, construction, petrochemical, mining and power generation industries, has acquired the business and assets of HighMark Crane Ltd.
HighMark specializes in providing crane rental and operator services and industrial equipment transportation services to customers in the power transmission, mining and commercial construction industries across Canada. The company’s fleet includes nine boom trucks designed for the power transmission industry, as well as cranes, trucks, trailers and other support equipment worth about $5.5 million.
“The acquisition of HighMark represents a key stepping stone in our strategy to further diversify our business outside oil and gas,” said John Stevens, ENTREC’s president and CEO. “Led by Scott Dodds, its president and founder, HighMark has developed a strong reputation as a leading provider of crane services to the power transmission industry right across Canada.”
With the acquisition, ENTREC has expanded its operations into Manitoba, Newfoundland and Labrador.
ENTREC, based in Acheson, Alberta, near Edmonton, also has branches in various cities in British Columbia and Alberta as well as Watford City and Dickinson, N.D., in the United States.
