Alaska’s Tyler Rental Acquires Oregon’s Interstate Rentals
Tyler Rental, based in Ketchikan, Alaska announced this week that it has acquired Interstate Rentals in Portland, Ore. This will be Tyler’s seventh overall location and second in the contiguous United States.
“Tyler Rental is a great fit for our business, which was started in 1953 by my dad,” said Joe Dennis, owner of Interstate Rentals. “Our customers and employees are in good hands.”
“Interstate Rentals has a great foundation and base for our growing operations,” said Randy Johnson, president of Tyler Rental. “It was a natural fit with our Chehalis, Wash., branch and we look forward to expanding into the Portland market. We have great respect for the Dennis family and are proud to pick up the reigns and bring the Interstate team into our employee-owned family culture at Tyler Rental.”
“The employee base and the location are very impressive, and we were able to hit the ground running on this smooth transaction,” said Jake Maenpa, vice president of operations for Tyler Rental.
Fred Hageman and Jay Hageman of Rental Business Advisors represented Interstate Rentals in the transaction. “My wife Cathy and I would like to express our sincere appreciation for Fred and Jay Hageman,” added Dennis. “We would not have achieved such a successful outcome in the sale of our legacy business without their consistent guidance and counsel throughout the entire process. We are both honored and grateful to see Tyler Rental lead Interstate Rentals into its next chapter.”
Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
In addition to its headquarters in Ketchikan, Alaska, the company also has branches in Petersburg, Juneau, Craig, and Sitka, Alaska, as well as Chehalis, Wash. It offers a wide range of equipment including ag/farm equipment, air compressors, compaction machines, earthmoving equipment, compact equipment, telehandlers, forklifts, mobile elevating work platforms, light towers, off-highway trucks, trenchers, water trucks, and more.
