HSS Hire, one of the U.K.’s largest equipment rental companies has acquired U.K. Platforms, an aerial equipment rental specialist, from its owner, French aerial work platform manufacturer Haulotte.
UK Platforms has more than 2,400 Haulotte aerial work platforms and telehandlers and has a network of 10 U.K. branches. UK Platforms is based in Telford, U.K.
According to U.K. sources, UK Platforms had revenues of about £20 million in 2012 (about U.S. $30 million). HSS, with the acquisition, will become the second largest aerial work platform rental company in the U.K.
The acquisition will complement HSS’ existing powered access fleet and operator training capabilities, enabling it to offer a wider range of equipment to customers and provide a more comprehensive service in the powered access rental sector.
“We believe that UK Platforms is a great fit for HSS and reflects our commitment to adding specialist expertise to our group,” said Chris Davies, HSS Hire chief executive. “I’m confident that it will help us to continue to deliver an unrivalled hire experience to our customers. There is a great cultural alignment – we each care strongly about safety, high quality kit, great value and industry-leading customer service. We look forward to a continuing strategic partnership with Haulotte.”
HSS Hire is headquartered in Trafford Park, U.K.
