Terex Corp., Westport, Conn., has acquired Bartell Industries, a Brampton, Ontario, Canada-based manufacturer of concrete-finishing equipment and related products with annual revenue of about $12 million.

Bartell, which has a U.S. office in Batavia, N.Y., will join Amida Industries and Benford America - both acquired earlier this year - in the recently formed Terex Light Equipment group.

Terex is also acquiring the material-handling business of Teledyne Specialty Equip-ment, a division of steel maker Allegheny Teledyne, Pittsburgh.

Teledyne, which manufactures Princeton and Kooi Aap truck-mounted lift trucks, has annual sales of about $50 million. Officials said the sale is part of the company's effort to shed operations and focus on production of stainless steel, titanium and other metals.
