STONEY CREEK, Ont. — Bill Attwell retired after nearly a quarter century as head of Canada's Battlefield Equipment Rentals.

Randy Casson, a 28-year veteran of the Toromont Caterpillar dealership, is Battlefield's new president.

Attwell oversaw the growth of Battlefield from a small company to a large single-location RER 100 player focusing on heavy earthmoving equipment rentals. Toromont Industries, the Caterpillar dealer for Ontario, bought Battlefield in January 1996 and expanded the company from a large single location to 27 branches — 21 in Ontario and six in Labrador and Newfoundland. Attwell guided the company's expansion efforts and helped transition the company to a Cat Rental Store identity, while maintaining the well-established Battlefield brand.

Battlefield is No. 20 on the new RER 100.
