General Equipment introduces the model 471 Dig-R-Tach hydraulically powered earth drilling attachment system, which is designed for use with lower-auxiliary hydraulic system flow rates found on compact loader backhoes, mini-excavators and compact utility loaders. The 471 Dig-R-Tach system enhances the versatility of compact loader backhoes by allowing them to become practical and productive options for many hole-digging projects. The system features a universal mounting bracket that readily conforms to a wide variety of loader bucket configurations. Featuring an industry-standard 2-inch hexagon auger drive connection, the 471 Dig-R-Tach is able to accommodate existing augers found in most equipment fleets.

Bobcat introduces a full line of backhoe attachments. Designed for landscaping and nursery work, sewage systems and septic tanks, and water and power lines, Bobcat backhoe attachments provide the power and ground clearance needed for all kinds of excavation work. The attachments feature down-hole visibility, bucket widths of 9 to 39 inches and maximum digging depths from 6 to 11 feet. Rear stabilizers are available for certain loader models.

Ingersoll Rand

The BL-570 compact backhoe loader from Ingersoll Rand is designed for utility installation, landscaping and rental applications, as well as general construction and repair work. The BL-570 utilizes an enhanced backhoe work group based on design and technology with a maximum digging depth of 12 feet. The loader has a rated operating capacity of 3,406 pounds and a breakout force of 9,370 pounds. It is equipped with the standard Bob-Tach attachment mounting system for the loader and the X-Change system for the backhoe. Both the loader and the backhoe are equipped with standard auxiliary hydraulics with two-way flow, which accommodate a variety of attachments including brooms, breakers, augers and compactors.

Case Construction Equipment

The Case M Series 2 line includes the 580M, 580M turbo, 580 Super M (pictured), 580 Super M+ and the 590 Super M. The line of backhoes features the exclusive Pro Control System, optional pilot controls and hydraulic loader and backhoe quick couplers for fast attachment changes from the cab. These five models range from 76 to 98 hp with loader capacities from 6,182 to 7,327 pounds. New engines and low-effort pilot control options have been added to all M Series 2 models.

Atlas Copco Construction Tools

The HB 2500 hydraulic breaker attachment from Atlas Copco Construction Tools features Krupp percussion technology and a service weight of 5,512 pounds, making it suitable for demolition, tunneling, trenching, foundation work, rock mining and secondary breaking. Designed for carriers in the 29 to 43 metric ton weight class, the HB 2500 accepts maximum hydraulic flow of 58 gpm at 2,610 psi of pressure, and delivers an impact rate of up to 550 blows per minute. To reduce excess vibration and noise, the HB 2500 comes equipped with the VibroSilenced damping system.

Komatsu America introduces the WB146-5 (pictured) and the WB146PS-5 backhoe loaders with Tier-2 engines. Both machines have an operating weight of 16,090 pounds. The WB146-5 is powered by a turbocharged Komatsu S4D102LE-2 flywheel 88-hp engine. The drivetrain includes a 4-speed synchro-shuttle transmission with standard 4-wheel drive for traction in soft soil applications. The WB146PS-5 includes a full PowerShift transmission with twist-grip gear control. The new S-shaped backhoe boom is narrower and stronger for visibility, increased lifting capacity, enhanced truck loading and improved breakout force.

John Deere

The design of John Deere's 710G backhoe has been updated from the previous model, and enhanced components include the boom, loader arms, cab and tilted hood. The backhoe is powered by the John Deere 6-cylinder, 118-hp 6068T diesel engine. A 70-gallon fuel tank allows the backhoe to work longer without refueling. Longer, box-constructed stabilizers provide enhanced stability through a stance that is 18 inches wider, yet transport width has decreased. Productivity receives a boost from a stabilizer downforce that has increased by 74 percent and a swing torque that has increased by 72 percent, as well as a bucket dig force that has increased by 4,000 pounds.

The Toro Dingo backhoe attachment offers powerful digging performance in a compact design and is designed for a variety of applications such as digging, loading, trenching, backfilling and demolition. The backhoe comes standard with a 13-inch-wide bucket and features a maximum digging depth of 82 inches. The unit also offers a 71-inch loading height and 113-inch loading reach from the swing pivot. The backhoe folds up to 34.5 inches wide, adding ease to transportation and access to confined spaces. For increased durability, it features replaceable swing-cylinder bushings and hardened pins on the boom and crowd arm.

Terex's TX970B loader backhoe is designed to give contractors the versatility of a wheel loader and the functionality of an excavator in one package. Weighing in at 17,633 pounds, the TX970B offers a maximum digging depth of 15 feet, 11 inches and a standard lift capacity of 8,783 pounds. The 94-hp Perkins turbo-induction engine and powershift transmission provides power and clutch-less operation. While the front loader end of the machine provides mechanical controls, the backhoe end features advanced piloted controls, which make it operate like an excavator. The ergonomically designed joystick with adjustable armrests is designed to increase operator comfort and visibility. The TX970B also allows 500 hours between oil changes, increasing uptime and reducing maintenance costs.

Woods Equipment

Woods Equipment introduces the Groundbreaker-X BH70-X and BH80-X (pictured) backhoe models, which are designed for commercial contractors and homeowners. The Groundbreaker-X easily attaches to skid steers and 18- to 45-hp compact tractors with either a 3-point or 4-point hitch. Its excavator-style curved boom and large dipper cylinders offer up to 3,780 pounds of digging force. A 180-degree swing arc and 180-degree bucket rotation enable the backhoes to maneuver in and around difficult obstacles. An optional mechanical thumb with six adjustable positions allows for easy pick-up of everything from a large tree limb to heavy concrete chunks.

JCB introduces the 4CX-17ft backhoe loader that features 4-wheel drive and 4-wheel steer for maneuverability. JCB Powershift transmission provides convenience and three steering modes designed to offer maximum flexibility for varying job conditions. The 4CX-17ft comes with a choice of deluxe ROPS/FOPS quiet cab or open canopy with ergonomically placed controls and instruments. The cab includes an adjustable-tilt steering column and improved ventilation. The backhoe includes large-capacity buckets with a parallel lift system and an optional tool carrier quick-attach system for front-mounted attachments. The hydraulic speed control allows the operator to divert power and speed as needed.
