FRESNO, Calif.- Horizon High Reach & Equipment president Rick Penkert has resigned and has left the Fresno-based aerial and material-handling rental specialist. Former president Shaun Flanagan, who has been overseeing the company's international expansion efforts for the past year and a half, will fill in on an interim basis until the position is filled.

Both Flanagan and Penkert told RER that Penkert left on good terms to pursue new challenges. Flanagan said Penkert gave notice in February but remained to finish large projects.

"Rick is a rental/sales/doer type of guy, and at his age the corporate environment of a company our size was just not what he was looking for right now," he said.

Horizon is No. 21 on the RER 100.
