OmniQuip Textron introduces the Lull 644E-42, the first model of its new PlaceAce Series of rough-terrain telescopic handlers. It features a new frame and boom assembly, side-mounted engine, enhanced hydraulic and systems controls, improved cab ergonomics, better engine air filtration and lower engine noise levels.

The product has a maximum lift capacity of 6,000 pounds, maximum lift and landing height of 42 feet each, maximum forward reach of 35.5 feet and a maximum reach below grade of 2.6 feet. It is powered by a Cummins 4BT3.9 turbo diesel rated at 99 hp. The transmission is a modulated power shift featuring 4-speed forward and 3-speed reverse.

The PlaceAce system features Lull's frame and boom design, which speeds load placement by moving the boom 80 inches along a horizontal plane without requiring the machine to be repositioned. The enhanced hydraulic joystick controls deliver responsiveness for load placement and faster cycle times for more efficient productivity.

“The pinpoint placement accuracy, smooth fork withdrawal and overall faster cycle times of the machine makes it the unit of choice for both novice and experienced operators,” says Steve Kiskunas, product development manager. “Every operator will appreciate the machine's efficiency, which comes from its ability to move loads horizontally at all lift heights and level placement of loads from a machine that can be parked farther away from structures.”
