Rental Service Corp. outfitted about 500 of its salespeople with mobile mini-notebooks to help them generate more revenue, officials said. The $1 million initiative, called Market Growth Management, uses mini-notebook computers running customized RSC software that gives its salespeople access to customer profiles, products, territories, new leads and order status.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based RSC, No. 2 on the RER 100, plans to provide laptops to an additional 450 sales staff by the end of the year.
