SAN DIEGO - Deere Power Systems, a longtime advocate of clean-burning alternative fuels, was named the winner of the 2000 Clean Cities National Partner Award by the U.S. Department of Energy. The award recognizes those organizations who successfully promote the use of alternative fuels.
Deere's 6.8- and 8.1-liter compressed natural gas (CNG) engines are used in trucks and buses nationwide.
This year, the company will join nine other organizations being inducted into the Clean Cities Hall of Fame.
