HIGH RIDGE, Mo. — In addition to the larger contributions towards relief and recovery efforts in New York and Washington D.C. by large rental companies and manufacturers, smaller companies have made important contributions as well.

Allen McClelland of McLelland Marketing, High Ridge, Mo., noticed the shovel samples in his warehouse that he'd received from Ames True Temper, one of the manufacturers McLelland represents. He began talking to Missouri rental companies he visited and found many eager to contribute to recovery efforts. McLelland spoke to Pat DeVitto of Cardinal Sales, Brooklyn, N.Y., to find out what was needed and put together a 1,000-pound shipment of shovels, gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, rubber boots, asbestos masks, water coolers, abrasive blades and even a case of Gatorade. McClelland sent the equipment to DeVitto who delivered it to the staging area in Staten Island, N.Y.

K&K Supply, Fenton, Mo.; Pat Kelly Equipment Co, Hazelwood, Mo.; Sedalia Rental & Supply in Sedalia, Mo.; U.S. Rents-It, Jefferson City, Mo.; and a couple of branches from Rental Service Corp. contributed to the recovery package.
