SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — RSC Equipment Rental expanded its footprint with new branches in Fort McMurray, Alberta, Canada, and Milan, Pa., and opened a Midwest regional office in Indianapolis.

In Fort McMurray, having served the Fort McMurray and Wood Buffalo region for the past 14 years, RSC custom-built its new facility in the TaigaNova Eco-Industrial Park, which requires an environmental commitment by its tenants. The new location offers a prime location close to the oil sands and downtown.

RSC held a grand opening, attended by RSC CEO Erik Olsson as well as Fort McMurray mayor Melissa Blake. The company held demos of products from vendor partners, and guests had the opportunity to talk with RSC experts about equipment, tool management, safety and sustainability.

RSC's sustainable facility features a green infrastructure and innovative design with LED lighting, an energy-efficient HVAC system, insulated storefront glass and low-flow toilets. The new facility is more than four times the size of RSC's previous facility in the Fort McMurray area.

The company also opened a 7,500-square-foot branch in Milan, Pa., primarily to supply the Northern Tier's natural gas industry.

Jon Raber, a 13-year veteran of RSC, is the district manager overseeing sales and other operations in the Milan area. RSC has eight branches in Pennsylvania, including Harrisburg, Lancaster, Duncansville, Thomasville, Chalfont, Conshohocken and Washington, Pa.

“This branch is about 10 miles to New York,” Raber said. “We look forward to continuing our long-lasting customer relationships and providing the expert service and premium equipment RSC has become known for in various industries.”

In other news, RSC Equipment Rental opened a new regional office in Indianapolis to better serve its Midwest customer base and support anticipated growth in the region. The office serves an RSC region that has more than 44 branches spread among Ohio, West Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa and Michigan.

Kelly Williams, who was born and raised in Indiana, will serve as region vice president.

“I'm excited to be coming home to lead this important new region for RSC Equipment Rental,” said Williams. “This regional office allows RSC to be closer to many existing customers while adding flexibility for future growth opportunities.”

A 3,200-square-foot temporary office space officially opened Aug. 1, and a larger, permanent facility including a rental operation will open in early 2012. The Indianapolis office is one of 10 regional offices RSC has throughout the United States.

“We plan to hire locally and grow our geographic footprint in this region while doing what we do best — deliver value and serve our customers,” said Williams.

Based in Scottsdale, Ariz., RSC Equipment Rental is No. 2 on the RER 100, and has about 450 locations in 41 U.S. states and three Western Canadian provinces.
