CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sunbelt Rentals acquired the eastern region operations of United Scaffolding, a subsidiary of Houston-based XSERV. The acquisition includes three full-service scaffold locations: Wilmington, N.C., Chesapeake, Va., and Richmond, Va.

The Wilmington and Chesapeake operations will operate as Sunbelt Access Specialist locations. About 150 United Scaffolding employees will become part of Sunbelt, including erection and dismantling crewmembers, sales reps and management personnel.
The acquisition gives Sunbelt greater strength in the industrial and commercial construction markets, Sunbelt vice president of marketing Chuck Miller said.

Bruce Williams is scaffolds operations manager for Sunbelt's Southern Virginia division, including the Chesapeake and Richmond locations and a future branch in Washington, D.C. Keith Lane will serve in the same position for the Coastal Atlantic, Central and north Georgia divisions, including access branches in Wilmington and Charlotte, N.C., Charleston, S.C., Atlanta and Augusta, Ga., and Birmingham, Ala.
Sunbelt, No. 5 on the RER 100, has 175 branches in 26 states.
