Toro
Toro's line of trencher attachments for the Dingo Compact utility loaders includes two models. The high-speed trencher delivers an auger speed of 187 rpm at 11 gpm and 442 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 psi for efficient trenching in soft to medium soil conditions. Producing an auger speed of 120 rpm at 11 gpm and 675 foot-pounds of torque at 3,000 psi, the Toro high-torque trencher features a heavy-duty drive system that enhances performance in any soil condition, from clay to rock. Both trencher attachments fit most compact utility loaders. The trenchers can be outfitted with an optional 2-foot boom for depths up to 29 inches.

Bobcat
Bobcat's LT414 trencher attachment features a 4- or 5-foot dig depth and is approved for operation on various Bobcat compact loaders with a high-flow auxiliary hydraulic system. The LT414 trencher is designed for medium- to high-production trenching applications such as utility installation projects. Standard with hydraulic side-shift, the trencher is built to achieve optimal productivity in all ground conditions, from black dirt to gravel. The side-shift feature provides the operator with flexibility when working next to buildings. The trencher also features a larger diameter auger with a tapered design that removes more material from the side of the trench, limiting the amount of spoil falling back into the trench.

Ground Hog
The T-4 from Ground Hog is a chain-type trencher designed for jobs requiring up to a 12-inch-deep by 3-inch-wide trench. For digging in all soil conditions, the T-4 offers a choice of carbide-tipped shark teeth or carbide-tipped bullet teeth. Conversions for depths up to 12 inches by 4 inches wide or 18 inches deep by 3 inches wide are available. Its user-friendly, compact design fits through narrow gates and doorways and can trench near walls and fences. The T-4's heavy-gauge-steel construction, durable powder-coated finish, tapered roller bearings and double-row ball bearings ensure less maintenance.

Turf Teq
The self-propelled Turf Teq 1305, 1305SP and 1305SP1 (pictured) are walk-behind trenchers that can trench up to 5 feet deep. The unit features a 13-hp Honda engine and a hydrostatic forward and reverse transmission. Two blades are offered for cutting widths of ½ inch and 2 inches. The SideWinder trenchers also have multi-use capability as a landscape bed edger, rotary broom and power rake.

Vermeer
With a compact design and simple features, the Vermeer hydrostatic RT350 is designed to help rental centers cater to weekend do-it-yourself rental customers and contractors tackling smaller projects. A step up in size from walk-behind trenchers, the RT350's backfill blade adjusted in the float position can backfill trenches, giving projects a more finished look. Powered by a 37-hp Cummins A1700 engine, the RT350 offers a disc/calipher park brake, a 42-inch wheelbase and cutters supported by bolts through both side plates of the trencher chain assembly. Capable of trenching depths to 48 inches, the RT350 can trench widths from 4 to 12 inches.

Little Beaver
The Kwik-Trench earth saw from Little Beaver features a simple, push-forward design that meets the shallow trenching needs of rental centers, contractors and golf course superintendents for applications such as residential lawn sprinkler systems, electronic dog fencing, low-voltage wiring, plumbing and drainage lines, and more. The mini-trencher's compact size allows operators to get into areas inaccessible to full-size trenchers. With cutting speeds of up to 30 feet per minute, the Kwik-Trench is also designed to cut backfill time by making clean, narrow trenches and depositing the spoil next to the trench.

Caterpillar
The T6B trencher has a 36-inch boom for applications that don't require the digging depth of the more powerful Cat trenchers. The T6B is designed to work with standard-flow hydraulics. The direct-drive motor provides a balance of chain speed, torque and chain pull for maximum productivity in a variety of soil types. Cutting widths offered by the adjustable boom are 6, 8, 10 and 12 inches. The T6B offers optional manual or hydraulic side shift for close trenching near structures. Maximum side shift is 22 inches to the right of center. A large, adjustable auger handles spoil removal, and an optional bolt-on crumber bar guides loose spoil away from the trench.

Ditch Witch
The 1330 trencher from Ditch Witch is a reliable, low-maintenance hydraulic drive trencher that features a reversible digging chain for dislodging rocks or spoils caught in the chain, the company says. The 1330 is designed for landscaping, irrigation, utility contractors, or any trenching application that requires an easy-to-use pedestrian trencher. The machine is equipped with a 13-gross-hp Honda GX390 gasoline engine and can trench to depths of 36 inches with trench widths to 6 inches. At 81 inches long and 34 inches wide, the compact size of the machine allows it to fit through a standard yard gate and work in confined areas.
