Gorman-Rupp Announces Acquisition
Mansfield, Ohio-based Gorman-Rupp Co. acquired American Machine and Tool Co. of Royersford, Pa. AMT is a manufacturer of off-the-shelf industrial centrifugal pumps. The products are marketing principally through third-party distributor catalogs. The company also announced the merger of Flo-Pak Inc., Atlanta, with Patterson Pump Co., Toccoa, Ga., a wholly owned subsidiary of Gorman-Rupp.
Deere to Close Springfield Plant
Deere & Co., Moline, Ill., plans to close its Phoenix International facility in Springfield, Ill., later this year. Deere said the operations now performed by the Springfield plant would be eliminated, outsourced, or consolidated with the company's Phoenix International plant in Fargo, N.D.
