Atlas Copco Construction Tools introduces the CC 1700 hydraulic demolition attachment. Providing 220 tons of cutting force at the jaw tip, the attachment is available with interchangeable steel-cutting and universal jaws. Opening 29.5 inches wide, the universal jaws are designed for building demolition, industrial demolition, secondary reduction and material separation. The steel-cutting jaws open 15.2 inches wide and are suited for steel structure demolition, secondary reduction and material separation.

“The CC 1700 is a third-member demolition tool, which means that it can be added to or removed from a carrier nearly as easily as changing a bucket,” says Jeff Malarik, vice president of sales of hydraulic attachments for Atlas Copco Construction Tools. “This allows the rental company to more fully utilize its equipment when compared to second-member demolition tools, which must be used with a dedicated carrier.”

To make on-site jaw replacement more convenient, the CC 1700 comes equipped with a coupling and positioning system (CAPS) that keeps each set of jaws connected after they have been removed from the unit. “This feature allows the disassembled jaws to be easily transported and properly aligned at all times. CAPS also improves cutter stability and improves the stress-bearing capability of the unit,” says Malarik.
