Ford Hires J.P. Morgan to Evaluate Possible Sale

Ford Motor Co. has hired J.P. Morgan & Co. to evaluate the proposed sale of Hertz Equipment Rental Corp., according to sources close to the situation. Although J. P. Morgan officials declined to comment on the process, sources close to the situation told RER that J.P. Morgan is evaluating the potential of a possible divestiture, but is not yet taking offers nor circulating a “book” on HERC.
