Kenneth Gerondale, president of Construction Machinery Industrial, LLC, acquired the Alaska assets of Construction Machinery Inc., a San Diego-based corporation specializing in the sales and marketing of construction equipment. Construction Machinery was formerly the Alaska dealer for Volvo Construction Equipment.

Gerondale, a former principal of Construction Machinery Inc., and Jay Roszell, president and CEO of Volvo Construction Equipment North America, Asheville, N.C., said that CMI would continue to operate as the authorized Volvo Construction dealer in Alaska.

“This acquisition will be an absolutely seamless transition,” said Gerondale, “with no interruption of services required by the customers of Construction Machinery Inc. Personnel will remain in their present positions to ensure that all customer needs are met on a continuing and timely basis.” CMI will provide equipment and services to customers from existing facilities located in Anchorage, Fairbanks and Juneau.

Gerondale sold Construction Machinery to its current owners in 1996. “I have enjoyed a few good years of retirement, but the challenges of the industry in which I spent 25 years, and the truly exciting future of Volvo Construction Equipment, presented new opportunities I could not resist,” Gerondale said.
