X-Boom 45XA
Bil-Jax
The Bil-Jax 45XA X-Boom fills an unmet need in the industry with 48-percent gradeability, 3.5-mph drive speed and four-wheel-drive capability. Hydraulic outriggers have replaced the heavy counterweights found on conventional self-propelled machines. Set-up is complete in less than 30 seconds. This makes the X-Boom lighter and less expensive than other self-propelled booms. This articulating boom offers 500-pound lift capacity with a 51-foot working height and 27 feet of maximum outreach. The unit weighs 4,715 pounds and does not require a commercial driver’s license for trailering. Options available for this lift include non-marking tires, indoor tires, a hydraulic jib rotator and a material lift attachment. The material lift attachment allows the 45XA to be used as a light-duty crane. Standard features include water line and air line to the platform, as well as a 4,500-watt generator and 110-volt GFI-protected electrical outlets at the platform and base.
S-60/S-65 Trax
Genie Industries
The new Genie S-60/S-65 Telescopic Trax booms feature an innovative four-point, permanently fixed track system that allows contractors to work any time of the year, enhancing traction in many types of difficult terrain. The fixed track possess a narrower profile — 8 feet, 6 inches wide — to allow these booms to be transported anywhere within the U.S. without special oversize-load permits and limitations on evening and weekend transport. Operators can easily drive these machines on and off a trailer, as well as maneuver in close proximity to walls and foundations because they steer like a wheeled unit and have an inside turning radius of 14 feet and an outside turning radius of 21 feet. With a ground contact pressure of less than 13 psi, the Trax boom leaves a minimal impression on sensitive surfaces. Each track is made of durable, steel-reinforced rubber and measures 17 inches wide and 47 inches long, with each carriage assembly weighing 1,100 pounds. The Trax booms have a travel speed of 2.3 mph.
HB86TJ+
Haulotte Group
Haulotte Group launches the innovative Telescopic Big Boom HB86TJ+. In every respect, the new big boom makes work easier and allows users to operate in a wider range of working environments. An outreach of 75 feet 6 inches; simultaneous movements; an 8-foot platform; the capacity to lift heavy loads (up to 772 pounds); and a 19-foot, 8-inch telescopic jib with proportional controls allows the user to reach the most inaccessible worksites. Thanks to its proportional movements and its self-leveling system, the operator has maximum working comfort. The boom and the jib, with its octagonal cross section in high-elastic modulus steel, are rigid, providing greater stability. The big boom benefits from the new generational control panel. The HB86 TJ+ has a narrow fixed-width frame, an oscillating axle to allow for operation in a wide range of areas.
LightLift LL63
Hinowa Spa (ReachMaster)
ReachMaster introduces the LightLift LL63 aerial lift, the most compact lift in its class, with features including a 63-foot working height, a maximum outreach of 21 feet (single capacity), and dual-power supply for indoor and outdoor use. The track-based unit comes equipped with a jib articulation joint. The LL63 can fit through a single door, is 6.6-feet tall, 2.6-feet wide and 14.7-feet long. The low maintenance and lightweight unit weighs 4,576 pounds. It features strong climbing abilities and can be easily transported on a small truck bed or a light trailer. Its manufacturer, Hinowa S.p.A., of Nogara, Italy, was founded in 1987 by a group of industry professionals with a goal of producing high-performance compact hydraulic equipment and undercarriages. ReachMaster is proud to be its exclusive U.S. and Canadian distributor.
LiftPod
JLG Industries
The LiftPod is the first personal and portable aerial work platform (AWP) on the market to replace the ladder. The price of the unit is 25-percent the cost and weight of an entry-level AWP. The LiftPod consists of three main sections — the base, the mast and carriage, and the platform — which are each about 55 pounds or less and can be assembled by one person in less than 30 seconds. Powered with a common 18-volt cordless drill, the LiftPod has a 14-foot working height and allows its user to work with both hands free in a 360-degree range of motion. The LiftPod’s lightweight and compact size allow for one person to move it around the worksite or transport it in the back of a pick-up truck with little effort. An optional power pack and a pair of quick-change batteries allow continuous work.
