The new Vanguard 400 EFI/ETC horizontal shaft commercial gasoline engine is the latest addition to the Vanguard single-cylinder product lineup. The electronic fuel injection system provides better fuel efficiency, improved overall performance and quick load acceptance and offers easy all weather choke-less starting. The addition of the electronic throttle control system means that operators can count on smooth and consistent power with any load size or type of terrain they encounter. Like its v-twin predecessors, the engine features a fully integrated cyclonic air cleaner with advanced AutoShed technology, extending service internals and provides owners with a better user experience and lower total cost of ownership.
Visitors to the 2021 ARA show can see this model on display at Booth 6723. The single-cylinder Vanguard 400 EFI/ETC 14.0 Gross HP engine will be available for purchase in March 2022.

Vanguard Single-Cylinder Engine Lineup
The Vanguard 160, 200 and 400 single-cylinder horizontal shaft commercial gasoline engines are built from the ground up based on customer input. The lineup of Vanguard single-cylinder engines includes an advanced version of TransportGuard, Vanguard’s single ignition and fuel shutoff designed to prevent oil/fuel dilution during transport, plus standard integrated cyclonic air filtration.
The 5.0 Gross HP Vanguard 160, 6.5 Gross HP Vanguard 200 and 14.0 Gross HP Vanguard 400 were designed to address customer needs such as improved starting, reduced maintenance, less noise and vibration, lower total cost of ownership, and better service and support.

The Vanguard Commercial Lithium-Ion Battery Pack is the only fully integrated, complete battery solution on the market, according to the manufacturer. The patent pending customized Vanguard lithium-ion battery pack, battery management system and charger work together to deliver efficient power and performance. Modular internal components can be configured for multiple capacities and voltages. Built to be flexible, up to 10 of the Vanguard lithium-ion batteries can be paralleled at a time to meet varying power application needs. It features two customizable CANbus networks that integrate with legacy systems, and a prequalified and plug-in-ready sharing system can be mounted on- or off-board.
The battery also has the ability for most components to be serviced — allowing it to be repaired instead of replaced.
