Longview Advantage, a Calgary, Alberta-based supplier of GPS tracking solutions for fleet management and theft recovery applications, last week said it would charge no monthly service fees to customers in the areas of Louisiana and Mississippi devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Longview customers pay monthly communications fees to send commands to, and receive information from the device to locate or secure a machine or vehicle.

“We realized that most of our customers in those states will be using their construction and service equipment and vehicles to assist in the cleanup of Katrina’s devastation,” said Don Douglas, president and CEO of Longview Advantage. “It’s quite overwhelming and we felt compelled to help in some way.”
