United Rentals Inc. last week announced the opening of a new branch in New York City, near the site of the former World Trade Center. The facility carries a range of small to mid-size equipment for rent, and draws on the company's fleet at nearby locations to fill larger requests. United Rentals has another branch at 39th Street and 12th Avenue, and plans to open a third location in the city's Upper East Side in the next several months.
"The new branch serves construction companies, commercial contractors, building superintendents and maintenance personnel in the five boroughs with equipment rentals, contractor supplies, new and used equipment sales, and repair and maintenance services," said Steve Nadelman, senior vice president for field operations at United Rentals. "We also encourage walk-in business from area businesses and residents."
The Liberty Street branch stocks approximately 1,500 contractor supplies items including saw blades, power tools, and safety gear, as well as a selection of products geared to the needs of residential customers.
Greenwich, Conn.-based United Rentals is No. 1 on the RER100.
