John Nerenberg, former chief information officer at CIT Commercial Finance, has joined SmartEquip as chief information officer and senior vice president of development and will lead the company's software engineering and IT efforts. He is the latest senior executive recruited by the company to join its leadership team. His appointment follows the recent additions of Jed Kalkstein as chief financial officer and Randy Amerine as senior vice president of sales and marketing.
“SmartEquip continues to strengthen its executive team during a period of significant growth, and with a rapidly growing list of customers seeking ever-greater efficiencies during economically challenging times,” said Alexander Schuessler, the company’s chairman and CEO. “John brings to SmartEquip a stellar track record in software development, IT infrastructure building, and quality assurance. With his leadership and experience, we will be able to sustain our growth rate domestically and internationally, while providing the industry with a global technology platform of the very highest quality.”
Nerenberg was employed by CIT for nine years, prior to which he held software development posts in numerous companies, including the Hughes Aircraft Company. He holds degrees from Drexel and George Washington University, as well as an MBA from the Columbia Business School.
