John Durante, Christopher Jones and Anthony Durante, three co-owners of Durante Rentals were named 2016 Small Business Association New York District Office Small Business Persons of the Year. The award was presented in conjunction with 2016 National Business Week at a ceremony held at 26 Federal Plaza in New York City.

Since it was first declared in 1063 by John F. Kennedy, the president of the United States continues to make an annual proclamation announcing National Small Business Week. The week represents an opportunity for Americans to pay tribute to the important role small business owners play in the economy. Each year the SBA highlights a few outstanding entrepreneurs and small business owners who have made a significant impact by driving innovation, creating jobs and increasing America’s competitiveness.

“We are thrilled to be recognized as the Person(s) of the Year by the U.S. Small Business Association as small businesses are the backbone of the American corporate landscape,” said chief financial officer Christopher Jones.

“We work hard as owners to maintain the growth that has kept us on top of the equipment rental business since we opened our doors in 2009,” said president John Durante.

Durante Rentals has continued to grow with recent store openings in Carmel and West Nyack, N.Y., with plans to open a new location in Brewster in a few weeks.

“As our business continues to grow, we also need to keep growing as people to meet the new challenges expansion presents,” added CEO Anthony Durante. “It is a real honored to be recognized for the hard work we have put in helping to bring Durante Rentals to where it is today. This award is not only a personal award for my two partners and myself, but a companywide award that we will share with the entire team.”
