Beard Equipment Buys Three Deere Dealerships from Industrial Tractor

Beard Equipment Co., a multi-location equipment dealership with a large rental fleet, this week acquired three John Deere Construction and Forestry dealerships from Industrial Tractor Co., a Savannah, Ga.-based company. Beard acquired Industrial’s facilities in Jacksonville, Lake City and Palatka, Fla.

Beard, primarily a Deere dealership that also handles Bomag and other lines, is based in Mobile, Ala., and has additional branches in Pensacola, Panama City and Freeport, Fla. The company is particularly strong in earthmoving, grounds care and compaction equipment.

Beard Equipment Co. was founded in 1970 by William Beard Sr. as a Deere construction and forestry dealership and is still owned by the Beard family. The first branch was in Pensacola, Fla., expanding to Panama City, Fla., in 1972; Mobile in 1982 and Freeport in 2004.
