Mustang

Mustang added a 99-hp Cummins diesel engine to its 2109 skid-steer loader. The Tier-2 emissions-certified, turbo-charged engine offers 305 foot-pounds of torque. The engine offers easy access to important maintenance points, including the dipstick, oil fill and air cleaner. The conventional liquid-cooled design requires oil/filter changes at 500-hour intervals after the initial 50-hour service. A grid-heater glow system provides preheat capabilities, helping operators in cold environments get to work quickly on cold days.

Bobcat

The new S330 skid-steer loader from Bobcat is the company's largest skid steer, with a 3,300-pound rated operating capacity. With a 10-foot, 10-inch lift height, the S330 works in construction, landscaping and agricultural markets. Its 85-hp, liquid-cooled diesel engine with increased displacement and horsepower means an increase in pushing power and drive torque when digging. To facilitate attachment operation, the machine features standard fingertip auxiliary hydraulic control, maximum/variable flow and forward/reverse detent. Standard two-speed travel increases the loader's mobility around jobsites by providing a 6.9-mph normal travel speed and a 12-mph high travel speed.

Volvo

Volvo's new B-Series skid-steer loaders offer operators a choice of traditional hand and foot controls or pilot-operated joystick controls. The B-Series is designed so that the hydraulics will not function and the brake is set until the operator lowers the seat bar and presses the hydraulic release button. The loaders feature a wide, tall opening into the operator's area, facilitating frequent exits and entries. The loaders also provide visibility in all directions to help operators maneuver on the jobsite. The five models in the series range from 45.3 hp up to 80.5 hp. Operating capacities range from 1,500 pounds to 2,250 pounds.

John Deere

John Deere's 300 Series skid steers are designed to be more productive and reliable to provide customers a lower daily operating cost than their predecessors. A vertical-lift boom is designed to provide a true vertical-lift pattern, ensuring the machine remains stable when lifting heavy palletized loads from flat beds. The boom allows maximum reach to be achieved at full lift height. A 35-degree rollback translates into a level bucket at carry position, resulting in more material carried with less spillage.

Gehl

Gehl's new 7810E skid-steer loader is powered by a Cummins 99-hp turbo-charged diesel engine and has an increased SAE-rated load capacity of 3,850 pounds. With a 3,300-psi hydraulic system relief pressure, the loader delivers a bucket breakout force of 8,340 pounds. The auxiliary hydraulic system, which provides standard 29-gpm adjustable flow and up to 41 gpm with optional high-flow, is designed for strong hydraulic attachment performance. Two-speed drive is available and offers ground speeds up to 12.5 mph.

Case Construction Equipment

Pilot controls now come standard on Case's 440CT and 450CT (pictured) compact-track loaders and as an option on its 430, 440, 450 and 465 skid-steer loaders. Case pilot controls for skid steers and compact-track loaders can be ordered with H or ISO patterns. With the H pattern, the operator uses the left-hand control to operate the left drive motor as well as to raise and lower the loader arms. The right-hand controller is used to operate the right drive motor and the bucket curl and dump. With the ISO pattern, the drive functions are in the left controller and the loader arm/bucket functions are in the right controller. This allows for one-handed operation.

Danuser

Established and family-owned since 1910, Danuser has manufactured drilling machines since 1943. The company offers 24 drive units, which are backed by a 5-year warranty. Models range from 6 to 60 gpm at 1,500 to 5,000 psi. Torque ranges from 1,039 to 8,759 foot-pounds. Danuser augers are available in 2-inch round, 2-9/16-inch round, and 2-inch hex with diameters ranging from 4 inches to 48 inches.

Komatsu

The Komatsu KS1020-5 skid-steer loader has a long wheelbase, giving the operator a more stable ride and a better platform for operating high-flow attachments. The machine's hydraulic self-leveling bucket with 5,038-pound breakout force enhances productivity on the jobsite. Two-speed travel allows for low-impact shift-on-the-go speed changes between 6.5-mph work range and 10-mph travel range. The machine is also equipped with Komatsu's anti-stall hydraulic system, designed to allow full utilization of engine power.

Caterpillar

The Caterpillar 268B skid-steer loader features the high-flow XPS hydraulic system, a load-sensing, pressure-compensating system that delivers maximum power regardless of work tool speed or load. The load-sensing system can provide high hydraulic power in demanding applications by maintaining peak operation pressure at the work tool. The 268B also features vertical lift linkage for efficient truck loading and material handling. The loader has a rated operating capacity of 2,700 pounds and a maximum lift of 127 inches. The Cat 3044C diesel engine has 3.3 liters displacement and produces 76 net hp. It is direct injected and turbocharged for responsive and fuel-efficient operation.

Ditch Witch

The Ditch Witch SK650 mini-skid steer features a 31-hp Kubota turbo diesel engine and directs 20 net hp to the attachment. Both the fuel and hydraulic tanks are mounted on the outside of the machine's frame. Because the fuel tank is exterior-mounted, the company was able to make the tank larger. With the 8-gallon capacity, most jobs can be completed without stopping to refuel. Quick-disconnect attachment fittings enable attachments to be changed with the hydraulic system under pressure, which speeds productivity. The SK650 is also equipped with a foot pedal auxiliary control that allows operators to drive the attachment by foot, freeing up their hands to control depth and ground speed.

Vermeer

The Vermeer S600TX rubber track mini-skid steer is available with two engine options: a 25-hp Kohler Command Pro gasoline engine or a 25-hp Kubota D905 diesel engine. A machine width of 35.75 inches allows the S600TX to maneuver through confined areas. The 7- or 9-inch tracks provide enhanced stability and lower operating ground pressure. The S600TX comes with a spring-cushioned platform that is positioned within the framework of the machine, reducing the need to walk through worksite debris, mud and uneven terrain. A universal attachment mounting plate combined with 14 gpm of hydraulic flow enhances versatility.

Takeuchi

The Takeuchi TL140 compact-track loader is an 81-hp machine designed for superior lifting capacity and bucket breakout force. Rubber tracks combine the capabilities of a track loader with the versatility of operation on improved surfaces. A high sprocket planetary drive system provides an efficient and durable method of speed reduction and torque amplification and eliminates drive chains, chain cases, axles and hubs, which require periodic maintenance and could cause failure. The track undercarriage provides the flotation needed for working in muddy or loose ground conditions and delivers the traction required for excavating tough materials.

JCB

The 82-hp JCB 110T track loader is designed for site preparation and clearing. The 10,198-pound loader with 6,439-pound tipping load provides force to cut through tough soil conditions while the low ground pressure permits operation in muddy or sandy conditions that would trap a wheeled skid steer, the company says. The unique single loader arm affords the operator wide visibility as well as a left side door that facilitates entry or exit, particularly when used with a large attachment.
