Gehl

The Gehl 383Z excavator features zero-tail-swing maneuverability, which allows the machine's superstructure to rotate entirely within the tracks. The 383Z can operate close to walls and obstructions without risk of contact. It weighs 7,826 pounds with a canopy and 8,002 pounds with a cab. The size of the operator's compartment is maximized by mounting the 29-hp Yanmar diesel engine on the side of the machine, and the hydraulic and fuel tanks on the rear of the machine, providing the operator with more space and leg room.

Bobcat

The Bobcat 418 excavator has an operating weight of 2,593 pounds and a dig depth of 6 feet. The company developed the 418 unit with zero-tail-swing with tracks extended, which eliminates overhang on the machine and allows the operator to optimize spoil placement and minimize machine contact with property. Two travel speeds are available with a range of 1.3 to 2.1 mph. The undercarriage of the excavator retracts to less than 28 inches.
