The Caterpillar 414E IL industrial loader features seat-mounted joystick implement controls to provide operator comfort and promote productivity. With one joystick instead of the traditional four or five levers, the machine gives the operator full control of all five functions (raise, lower, float, tilt and pitch) of the three-point tool carrier along with the ability to activate auxiliary hydraulics and work tools.
“The 414E IL is built with weight and balance in mind,” says Jim Zak, BHL commercial manager for Caterpillar. “The standard configuration of the 414E IL weighs in at about 14,500 pounds without the need for loading the tires or adding wheel weights. The natural weight of the machine provides plenty of drawbar pull with our weight-to-horsepower ratio that is critical to operator productivity.”
The front loader on the unit can use a 1-cubic-yard, a 1 ¼-cubic-yard, or a 1.3-cubic-yard multi-purpose bucket in addition to a wide range of Caterpillar work tools. The power train features a Cat diesel engine producing 74 net hp. An optional turbocharged DIT engine produces 89 net hp. All-wheel drive is standard for productive performance in all underfoot conditions.
The operator station is designed to reduce fatigue and to boost operator efficiency. A sloping front hood and divergent lift arms allow the operator to see more of the forward work area and loader attachments. The seat rotates 20 degrees from forward for visibility and operator comfort when operating rear implements.
