Champion Road Machinery Sales Co., a Volvo Construction Equipment dealer of motor grader and compact equipment lines in Ontario, Canada, last week announced that Serkes Ibrahim has been named president of the company effective March 12. Ibrahim was appointed to the position currently held by Wayne Mason, who announced his retirement from Champion Road Machinery Sales as of March 31.
Mason has been a valuable contributor to Volvo and the former Champion Grader company as well as a well-known industry figure in Ontario for 40 years, the company said. Mason has been appointed a member of Champion’s advisory board, and will continue his service to the company and industry.
Also retiring on March 31, is Champion’s operations manager Sharron Buchanan. Buchanan has been with the company for 30 years.
“Serkes Ibrahim is recognized within the industry as a respected manager with an intense passion for serving the customer, and we are fortunate to have an executive with such depth of experience and reputation succeeding Wayne Mason,” said Dennis Slagle, president and CEO, Volvo Construction Equipment North America.
Ibrahim previously worked in the construction equipment industry for Case Construction Equipment and Strongco LP, another Volvo Construction Equipment dealer in Ontario and other Canadian provinces.
