Enersys’ Wi-IQ4 Monitors Battery Operating Data

April 12, 2023
By detecting the early warning signs of battery abuse, the Wi-iQ device allows operators to correct potentially harmful practices.

Wi-IQ4 from Enersys combines battery monitoring expertise with the latest in wireless technology. The Wi-iQ 4 battery-monitoring device monitors a range of battery operating data including amp hours (AH) charged/discharged, temperature, voltage, and electrolyte levels. By detecting the early warning signs of battery abuse, the Wi-iQ device allows operators to correct potentially harmful practices. Also, user-friendly Wi-iQ Reporting Suite software can generate battery operation and condition reports, from the smallest of burden carriers to MEWPs, forklift trucks, automated guided vehicles, railcar movers and more.

At the core of EnerSys power management, the latest Wi-iQ battery monitoring device features a slim design for easy installation on the battery harness and combines battery monitoring expertise with the latest in wireless communication. Featuring an LCD display, LED warning lights and integrated low voltage buzzer, the Wi-iQ device issues visual and audible alerts to the user on important operational parameters, including when to recharge the battery.

The Wi-iQ device communicates with remote sensors on the battery to capture and continuously share battery operating data via Bluetooth with all EnerSys battery operations management tools.

By providing a real-time window into the early warning signs of battery abuse, the Wi-iQ battery monitoring device allows operators to identify and correct developing issues before they lead to premature battery failures and costly unplanned downtime.

The unit can:

• Protect assets and productivity

• Reduce unplanned downtime

• Cut total cost of ownership

• Optimize battery fleet operations

The heart of power management

The Wi-iQ battery monitoring device delivers the first step in the transformation of data into actionable intelligence that supports higher reliability and longer battery life. Along with storing all battery operating data on the device itself, the Wi-iQ device wirelessly communicates with the Truck iQ smart battery dashboard, the E Connect mobile app, EnerSys modular chargers and Xinx battery operations management system.

Wi-iQ device captures and monitors key battery operating data:

• Amp hours (AH) charged/discharged

• Temperature levels

• Voltage levels and voltage imbalance issues before battery failure occurs.

• Voltage levels

• Charging time

• Discharge time

• State of charge (SOC)

• Depth of discharge (DOD)

• Electrolyte levels (via an optional external sensor)
