International Powered Access Federation managing director and CEO Tim Whiteman is stepping down after 15 years of leading the organization. Former IPAF president and former NES Rentals CEO Andy Studdert will act as interim CEO to provide continuity as Whiteman hands over the reins and while the search for a new CEO is being conducted.
The IPAF board recruited Whiteman in 2004 to take on the challenge of implementing the “I” in IPAF and making the organization truly international. At that time, the federation had around 400 members, mostly in the U.K., and earned 95 percent of its revenue from the U.K.
Today more than 45 percent of IPAF’s income comes from outside the U.K., even though U.K. income and membership has continued to grow since 2004. Now IPAF has almost 1,400 members in nearly 70 countries and the organization is in sound financial health. More importantly, IPAF has made significant contributions to awareness of safety in the usage of mobile elevating work platforms.
“It has been a privilege to work with the dedicated IPAF members and team members around the world — the passion to deliver the safe and effective use of powered access motivates so many people and IPAF shares their knowledge and experience to help keep people safe,” Whiteman said. “However, after 15 years, I’m looking forward to a change and I thank the board for its support in making this happen.”
