Snorkel, manufacturer of telescopic and articulating booms, last month announced a new refurbishing program. The Elwood, Kan.-based manufacturer has contracted with a major national rental firm to refurbish a significant number of Snorkel telescopic boom lifts and articulated booms. Snorkel is making these services available to all owners of Snorkel aerial equipment.
“These new services are a result of requests from within the rental industry,” said newly hired executive vice president and chief operating officer Frank Scarborough. “Owners will be able to cost-effectively extend the usable rental life of their Snorkel booms without the expense of purchasing new products.”
The work will be done by Snorkel service technicians at its Elwood facility.
Snorkel CEO Al Havlin put together an investment group called Snorkel Holdings and acquired the company from Textron in December 2002.
