Liebherr Posts 9-Percent Revenue Boost in 2012

Liebherr increased its total sales revenue in the past business year by more than 9 percent to €9.1 billion (about U.S. $11.9 billion). In the construction machinery and mining product areas, Liebherr also increased sales revenue by about 9 percent, growing by about €490 million to total sales of €5.9 billion.

Liebherr’s mobile crane division grew at an above-average rate, by more than €200 million, or 12 percent, to a total of more than €1.9 million, after having declined in the previous year.

Liebherr posted sales of earthmoving equipment of about €2.1 million, relatively flat year over year, while tower cranes and concrete technology posted about €580 million.

The company also posted good results in its maritime cranes division, aerospace and transportation systems, machine tools and automation systems, and other areas such as domestic appliances did well.

Liebherr expects 2013 revenues to be as good as 2012. It expects relatively moderate development in construction machinery and mining.
