Manitowoc Crane Group last week named Eric Etchart president and general manager, effective immediately. Glen Tellock, previously president and general manager of MCG, has been promoted to president and CEO of the parent organization, The Manitowoc Co.

Etchart has been with MCG since 1995, serving first as general manager for Potain in Italy before moving to the Asia-Pacific region in 1997. After starting out in Singapore, Etchart moved to China in 2001. He has since served as executive vice president of the Asia-Pacific region.

“Eric brings a deep knowledge of the lifting industry and a passion for our products to his new role,” said Tellock. “With his experience leading the Asia-Pacific region, and his previous role managing the Potain brand in Italy, his move to group president will be seamless. Eric is extremely globally focused in his approach to business and he will continue the effort we started to make MCG the global leader in lifting solutions.”

The appointment of Etchart comes days after the Bauma Trade Fair in Munich, Germany, where MCG unveiled a number of new cranes. Etchart will relocate to the Manitowoc, Wis., area over the next six month as MCG recruits a new executive vice president for the Asia-Pacific region.
