Jungheinrich, material handling equipment provider, and Riwal, aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist will work together in the future on an international scale to rent their equipment

Jungheinrich, the international material handling equipment provider, and Riwal, the international aerial work platform and telehandler rental specialist will work together in the future on an international scale to rent their equipment, the companies said.

Jungheinrich will use Riwal aerial work platforms for logistics centers, while Riwal will be able to offer Jungheinrich forklifts to customers in other segments. The aim is to create a global one-stop shop for forklift trucks, aerial work platforms and telehandlers, providing customers of both companies easier access to the right equipment. The program has already taken effect in The Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia and Germany, with other countries to follow in the course of 2019.

“Riwal is pleased to be able to provide a broader range of equipment to our customers as a result of this agreement,” said Pedro Torres, Riwal chief operating officer. “We are delighted to cooperate with a leading company such as Jungheinrich that has a strong international reach in the intralogistics industry.”

“Customer focus is key to Jungheinrich,” added Kerk Wichmann, director of rental at Jungheinrich. “By working with Riwal, we can serve the market with an expanded and optimally coordinated product portfolio. This partnership makes the rental of forklift trucks and access equipment much easier and more efficient for our customers. We look forward to working with Riwal to leverage business opportunities as both companies share the same corporate values.”

Most recently, Riwal and Jungheinrich worked together on the Volvo Ocean Race 2018. As the official equipment supplier, Riwal equipped the mobile shipyards with scissor lifts and Jungheinrich provided forklift trucks. In addition, Riwal and Jungheinrich equipment were used to build hospitality villages in various stopovers across the world.

Riwal, headquartered in Dordrecht, The Netherlands, is an international rental and sales specialist of aerial work platforms, telehandlers and power generators. Riwal employs over 2.350 people, has 75 depot operations in 16 countries, operates more than 18.000 units and conducts business in more than 70 countries.
