Boss Industries recently announced a license and distribution agreement with Mexican firm Joper, granting Joper and its MaquiRent rental division exclusive distribution rights for its Smith Compressor Division’s portable air compressors in Mexico. The agreement gives Joper license to manufacture the Smith line of portable compressors in Mexico for sale in Mexico, Central and South America.

Joper, which has manufacturing facilities in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico, is a major manufacturer of concrete and mortar mixers, concrete saws, trowels and other concrete finishing equipment. Its MaquiRent division – Mexico’s largest rental company -- has 25 rental locations in Mexico that will become rental, sales and service outlets for Smith air compressors. Joper also has a network of 52 independent distributors throughout Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Joper will begin manufacturing the Smith compressor products within six months, including its diesel-powered rotary screw compressors.

LaPorte, Ind.-based Boss Industries acquired the assets of Smith Compressors in June 2002.
