Cincy Tool Acquires Cincinnati’s Brueneman Rentals

Cincy Tool Rental, Cincinnati, Ohio, recently acquired Brueneman Rentals, a single-location rental center also in Cincinnati, Cincy Tool owner Bob Bruner toldRER. Brueneman owners, Leonard and Bill Brueneman, are staying on to manage the store, Cincy Tool’s fourth rental location.

“We were looking to expand and this deal came along where Leonard and Bill were looking to sell the business,” Bruner said. “We already had quite a bit of business in that area of the city. And we brought some equipment lines over there that that branch hadn’t had and they got us into some items we hadn’t rented in the past, so it works out very well for us.”

Another Brueneman brother, Dick, already worked for Cincy, which also owns an additional property it bought from the Brueneman family several years ago. Cincy is renting storage units out of that property and is considering putting up a building to open a fifth rental facility in the coming years.

The acquisition gives Cincy Tool more geographic cover. “All of our branches are about 30 minutes apart from each other, so this helps us cover the city pretty well,” Bruner added.
