Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Ill., and 10 independent Caterpillar dealers joined forces to create a new company, Energyst Rental Solutions, to offer energy rental services in Europe. The new company will compete in the rapidly growing temporary energy business in Europe, which Caterpillar projects will exceed US$1 billion in industry sales by 2010.

Energyst will build on the investment of Caterpillar dealers in extensive rental operations that serve an array of industries such as utilities, telecommunications, processing industries and large temporary projects. The new company will operate as an integrated entity with a broad product offering and the largest service network in the industry. It will provide European customers with temporary energy solutions including electrical power, heating, cooling and refrigeration.

“Caterpillar dealers already have an established and proven reputation in this industry,” said James Parker, Caterpillar vice president with responsibility for the company’s Power Systems Marketing Division. “As part of Energyst, these dealers will offer services that go well beyond the supply of equipment by offering a single point of customer contact for large projects and those which cross borders.”

The Caterpillar European dealers that will form the new Energyst Rental Solutions company are: Avesco, Switzerland; CGT, Northern Italy; Eltrak, Greece; Eneria, France and Poland; Finning, Great Britain; Finanzauto, Portugal and Spain; Geveke, Denmark, The Netherlands, Norway and Sweden; McCormick MacNaughton, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland; Treco, Belgium and Luxembourg; Zeppelin, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic and Slovak Republic.
