Elizabeth Wilson, who co-founded Kennebec Equipment Rental Co. in Fairfield, Maine, in 1964, with her husband Raymond Wilson, died at the age of 94. Raymond Wilson died in 1994, but Ms. Wilson continued to run the accounting department at KER and served as treasurer of KER and Kennebec Drilling and Blasting, both companies founded by the Wilsons.

Ms. Wilson died at her winter home in North Fort Myers, Fla.

“She was well known throughout many in the rental industry and attended the very first rental show,” said her son-in-law Dan Morris, general manager of KER. “She was very influential in getting me to participate in the ARA of Maine, where I am now state president. When she was in Maine, she showed up every day just to see what was going on in the stores.”

Her daughter Jane Morris and son-in-law also founded a separate rental store called Eagle Rental.

KER grew to five additional branches in Maine – Bangor, Auburn, Portland, Kittery and Woolwich.

Ms. Wilson was also predeceased by a son, Larry Wilson. She is survived by four children: son David and daughters Susan Gilliam, Beverly Musolf and Jane Bickford, as well as six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
