MADERA, Calif. — The U.S. business operations of UpRight Inc. emerged from Chapter 11 last month.

UpRight's exit follows successful voting on the amended plan of reorganization Sept. 9, and a subsequent plan confirmation hearing Oct. 16.

“UpRight emerges from Chapter 11 as a leaner and more efficient company,” said Ian Menzies, president and CEO. “Over the past sixteen months we have made sweeping and far ranging changes to our businesses, not only here in the USA but overseas also.

“There is no doubt that the Chapter 11 process has been difficult in a number of ways. Without the ongoing support of our customers, vendors and owner, and the commitment from employees, we would not have successfully reorganized. We do say a big thank you for that support.”

UpRight has been a manufacturer of aerial work platforms for more than 55 years. The company manufactures powered lifts and aluminum tower systems at production plants in Madera, Calif., and Dublin, Ireland.
