Trail-eze

Heavy-duty hydraulic tail trailers from Trail-eze have a main deck length of 22 feet, 3 inches, to 35 feet, 3 inches, with an upper deck length of 8 feet. The 12-foot hydraulic tail will carry 20,000 pounds, 4 feet back from the hinge pin, and a patented locking device allows for greater ground clearance. The heavy-duty trailer line also features MF-80 high tensile steel and custom manufactured beams designed for stress loads at a minimum of two times the rated capacity.

Brad Lull, marketing manager for Sunbelt Rentals, chose the hydraulic tail trailer model because it features an upper deck for loading additional equipment. “It's a basic fit for our company,” Lull says. “It will accommodate 90 percent of the equipment that we carry.”

Bil-Jax

Bil-jax recently introduced a 12,000-pound capacity hydraulic drop-deck trailer to its line of heavy-duty Escalate trailers. The ET 12000 model is designed for transporting heavier and larger drive-on equipment, including forklifts, mini-excavators, tractor loader backhoes, skid-steer loaders, scissor lifts and riding trowels. The trailer's 17.5-inch tires have a leaf-spring suspension that increases the bed width to 75 inches, while producing a softer ride and easier trailer control during transportation. Overall bed size is 75 inches wide by 168 inches long. Other standard features include electric brakes, cargo tie-downs and a battery.

Don Bruner, vice president of Cincy Tool Rental, Cincinnati, particularly likes the way the bed raises and lowers hydraulically. “It lowers right down to the ground, which makes loading equipment such as scissor lifts, mini-excavators very easy. The customers think it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.”

Rogers Brothers Corp.

Rogers Ultima and TAG Series trailers are available to the rental industry. Standard models are available in capacities from 20 to 60 tons to handle a variety of construction equipment. The Ultima Series, available in 25-, 50-, 55- and 60-ton capacities, allows contractors to haul longer, wider and heavier loads while maintaining compliance with restrictive GVWR regulations. Croucher body styling enables the trailer to run low to the ground for maximum overhead clearance. The No Foot, non-ground engaging gooseneck uses low hydraulic pressure for deck height adjustments to negotiate such obstructions as railroad tracks and low bridges.
